Best of WNY Album Review!

CD Review – By Bob Silvestri
bobsilvestri@bestofwny.com

The latest entry into the indie female singer songwriter is Sara Elizabeth and her album On The Rise. The ten song disc features Sara on vocals, acoustic and electric guitars, banjo, ukulele, piano and mandolin along with Anthony Rideout on bass and Joe Thomas on drums. Sara also wrote and arranged all the material and produced the disc. The key to being above everyone else in the singer songwriter mélange is obviously to write good songs and this talented girl has a few on this one. Her soft lilting voice carries the material nicely and shines on the tracks “For You”, “I Think I Better”, “Carry Me Away” and the title cut “On The Rise”. Other tracks of note include “And That’s All” and “Willow Tree”. You can check out Sara Elizabeth and her new disc by going to www.saraelizabethmusic.com.

Back at school

Back at school! Studying the Beatles, the history of American music, and the ins and outs of working in a recording studio (along with Psychology and Nutrition!). I’m also spending a lot of time working in the theatre and composing with friends, and am hoping to gain much knowledge and inspiration to bring to my songs – and resumé!
