Indie singer/songwriter Sara Elizabeth is set to release her sophomore effort “Be Well” in the heart of her hometown of Alden, NY on Wednesday, July 30th at 7:30 pm. It has been two years since this now twenty-two year old’s well-received debut album “On the Rise”, and the development of her life and songwriting over that time is apparent in this collection of twelve new songs. Sara Elizabeth’s music takes the heart of folk music, the soul of the blues, the brain of classical, and the energy of modern indie rock and uses them to tell stories no one has ever heard. The new album is a heartfelt display of this – an honest representation of the inner workings of a twenty-something musician.
“Be Well” was produced by Sara Elizabeth along with her skilled engineer Chris Jacobs, and features her talents as a multi-instrumentalist, incorporating acoustic and electric guitar, ukulele, banjo, mandolin, and bass. The remaining line-up includes her full time drummer Josh Schlabach on all tracks, and features bassist Michael Petrino and violinist Ana Vafai throughout. Jacobs also makes an appearance on piano. The content is raw and draws on life’s pivotal moments such as the death of a friend and of a grandparent, engagement, and the shifts in perspective we encounter as we approach adulthood – positivity, the importance of home and roots, and finding joy in the simple things. “Be Well” will be available on iTunes, Amazon, and CDBaby, as well as at all shows starting July 30th.
On July 6th, 2014, Sara Elizabeth was the featured artist on 107.7 FM Alternative Buffalo’s “Localized” program, where she debuted her brand new song “Yes”. In the coming weeks you can also see her at Dinosaur BBQ (Buffalo, July 16th), Crazy Jake’s (North Tonawanda, July 24th), Stockman’s Tavern (East Amherst, July 25th), and Nietzsche’s (Buffalo, July 28th) leading up to the CD Release on July 30th. The Release Event will be in the Alden Fireman’s Park (also known as “The Triangle”) on Route 20 in the Village of Alden, NY. The event is free and open to the public, and will feature Schlabach on drums as well as local bassist Tom Varco. Sara Elizabeth and her band will play some older material off “On the Rise”, and will then perform “Be Well” live in it’s entirety.
